What is the Samsung Galaxy Tab?

Samsung have released yesterday their first tablet device which brings together all of Samsung's leading innovations to provide users with more capabilities while on the move. Consumers are able to experience PC-like web-browsing and enjoy all forms of multimedia content on the perfectly sized 7-inch display, wherever they go. Moreover, users can continuously communicate via e-mail, voice and video call, SMS/MMS or social network with the optimized user interface.

As well as it being compact at 7" it is also very light at 380g and the thickness is a very slim 12mm, at the moment it only comes in black or white but could be something that Samsung could develop when it is more stable in the market. The memory comes in either 16MB or 32MB which is the maximum.

The device is powered by Android Operating System 2.2 and has a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor which delivers high performance where ever you are! At the same time, HD video contents are supported by a wide range of multimedia formats (DivX, XviD, MPEG4, H.263, H.264 and more), for maximum entertainment. It also features a front and rear camera which gives you endless opportunities as you can capture still images hold video conferencing edit and upload you videos the list goes on.

The Tab has a few unique features like the ‘Readers Hub,' which provides easy access to a vast digital library – from classical literature to the latest bestsellers and reference materials. At the same time, Samsung's' Media Hub,' a gateway to a world of films and videos, and ‘Music Hub,' an application giving access to a wide range of music tunes, although Samsung does have various other applications that can be downloaded.

Now to Apple iPad which is roughly 13mm and weighs in at 1.5lbs and has a 9.7" LED backlight multi-touch screen and is powered by a custom-designed Apple A4 chip and has a library of almost 140,000 applications to download and use, iPad has loads of peripherals and accessories have been designed for the iPad including a docking station with built-in keyboard, and a standalone dock. That's not forgetting the iPad Camera Connection Kit that lets you import photos. And then there's the Carry Case to protect your beloved iPad, which also doubles up as a nifty holder to make viewing and typing that bit more comfortable. iPad also has a 32GB capacity flash drive not mentioned by Samsung.

So if you are looking for something that is versatile and has a lot more features buy the iPad, if you are looking for something that is really light smaller and not so fussed about the application difference between the iPad and Galaxy Pad then this one is for you and as it is just out on the market patience will hopefully pay off and more applications will be added as time goes on.
