Has been a rumor now for more than three years that the concept of Apple's tablet style laptop is something that many of us computer geeks beginners. It has been a complete dream computer. There was a second period of anticipation and frustration that has gone hand-in-hand with each rumor of a pending release of the MacOS portable computing-based solutions that ease of use and power of Apple, but also has an ultra-portability of a computer.

 

It seems people get their hopes only to have them dashed again with "is not ready for the market". Many have become really desperate because they had long hoped for the first Apple tablet laptops. Modbook from Axiotron has now made its debut. This is a day in waiting for everyone. Over the last three years we have been waiting for this tablet laptops and it was really something to shout about. The Modbook is not official Macintosh computer.

 

Axiotron produces this computer and run MacOS X. Until now, this is the only game around for tablet laptops operate on the MacOS platform. These tablet laptops have great popularity among designers, students and anyone looking for lightweight and portability of a tablet PC and Apple's suite of programs for creative efforts. A 13.5 "screen is one of the features of the Modbook and Wacom stylus is supported by Apple's software ink.

 

It has been amazing handwriting recognition is not much better than the Microsoft-based competition. When tested, handwriting recognition is the most readable. It also can be translated into readable text on the screen. This is a remarkable achievement, especially when this is a relatively early stage of history as far away handwriting recognition. Ink is a very sophisticated system. It will be interesting to see where Apple takes this functionality in the future.

 

The Modbook has no true touch screen functionality. Interaction with the screen should be done by using the Wacom stylus. Modbook run on Mac OSX v 10.5 (Leopard) and comes with a 2.1 GHz processor, 1 GB of memory is onboard and has all the standard set of connectivity options that you would expect from a Macintosh computer: FireWire, Ethernet, USB, and Airport. One great thing that is integrated into the Modbook is the GPS. With GPS you do not need to get lost on the road when you want to the meeting. You can find your way around anywhere at the touch screen.

 

Standard features that come with the Modbook is the iSight camera. Many people will be happy and find it helpful to these features, especially artists who do double duty as strange. But for most people, it might be just a good toy to have. Modbook has a remarkable design. This computer is not manufactured by Apple but this company is not much justice.

 

Axiotron has really lost it myself! Beautiful chrome finish top of a double layer of nickel and copper plating. A casing made of magnesium alloy is similar to what is used in aircraft. Portable computer is durable and built to last. There is a satin finish but in the next few months will mirror chrome finish is available. This will meet the needs of those who should have a shiny computer.

 

Durability factor extends beyond the casing. The iSight camera and the screen is protected by Axiotron's ForceGlass that makes scratches and more durable. This score remarkable points when you compare it with a closed plastic LCD screen. It is usually found in portable computers. Cover and the screen is also very clear and bright. This is caused by the anti-reflective coating on the bottom of the screen and the acid treatment on the outside of the reduced sparkle and the effect of glare.

 

This feature is highly appreciated by the people who regularly use a laptop. Also equipped with a full-featured optical drive that supports writing CD and DVD-ROM. This is a DVD-ROM/CD-R upgradeable to drive. This is not typical for tablet computers. The Modbook has long come but so worth the wait because it offers the portability of a tablet PC and Mac stability and performance. So, every Apple lovers can rejoice right now.

The Modbook is highly recommended for all those who seek a tablet that can offer regular handwriting recognition and access to creative software Mac platform.
