Archos 9 PC Tablet Review
The Archos 9 PC Tablet is currently one of the hottest items on the market. It's a multimedia gadget with an 8.9" Led backlit display. Weighing less than two pounds, this tablet PC can easily be carried in a backpack or purse. The body is sleek with a brushed-metal exterior. Despite its small screen, the display is clear, images are crisp, and text is easy to read.
Here are the specs of the Archos 9 PC Tablet:
- Intel ATOM Z510 processor w/ 1.1 GHz
- 1 GB onboard system memory
- 60 GB hard drive
- Ethernet 10/100 and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities
- Wi-Fi
- Windows 7 Starter Edition OS
- Up to five hours of battery life
In addition to ultra-portability, this small PC is also designed for high performance. You can watch videos in high definition and listen to music. Video playback is impressive and superior compared to handheld multimedia players. This gadget is somewhere in between a multimedia player and a netbook.
The keyboard is on-screen, and can be activated with touch input. The mouse buttons are located near the thumb trackpad. You can control the mouse buttons if you don't want to use the touch screen. Ports on the Archos 9 PC Tablet include a USB 2.0 port and a DC-IN jack. You can use a port replicator for a microphone input, Ethernet port, and an audio output.
Thanks to the built in Wi-Fi, you can connect to the internet at any wireless hot spot. Since this tablet is so light, it makes an excellent travel companion. You can connect it to printers, other computers, digital cameras, and hard drives via the USB port. If you order the optional port replicator, you can even connect it to your TV!
Overall, the Archos 9 PC Tablet is a great multimedia device. If you're not used to virtual keyboards, you'll be glad to know that this one is easy to use. It's just like a full sized QWERTY keyboard, and it's easy to get used to. The battery life is pretty impressive. You can expect it to last for five hours at a time!
