I ordered this as a third player for Blu Ray in the house. Instead, the focus of my entertainment center. 

This article was presented in a container well and arrived quickly. ABRO be connected and plugged in my network. Automatically connects to my network, I got nothing of my other Blu-ray and went to the plant. 

After a quick online activation, an incredible variety of streaming video options available. Netflix streaming video never, never looked so good before. The films were quick relief Amazon.com. As I sorted through the options, I suddenly realized that I had found my laptop to movies, videos, music and images available for streaming on my TV. 

The interface is very similar to the PlayStation, which sails very familiar. Blue Ray load faster on my other player or my PS3. 

The look is very elegant, ultra thin no buttons visible on the front, although there are. One available USB port on the front is just the only thing different is something nice in March 

This player has a place in the largest entertainment center. I've never been so impressed with a piece of mail, and this is a kind of writing this in an IPAD. 

I wish I could look through the music while playing what is on. WiFi is encouraged, but can be added via the USB port not included. You can contact a network of stay even for the maximum speed for streaming. I would most critical, but I'm very happy. Now I have an excuse for my internet bandwidth at home! 

In general, this is the best money I spent on my entertainment center because the plasma modification.

Dimming Menu Problems???

Just bought this yesterday to go with my new Sony HDTV. Plugged it in, set up Netflix and began streaming right away. So easy to do that. 

But I can not understand the MOST annoying behavior. When I go to the menu, everything is bright and clear. After about 6 or 7 seconds, the menu begins to slowly dim. I can still use it, but it goes to about 60% brightness. I can't hardly see it. If I press RETURN on the remote, it brightens up again. I start going through the menu and again, it darkens. 

What's up with that?? I want the Sony to be compatible with my TV. I like everything about it. But I can't see the damn menu!!! Except for that, it would receive five stars. But I have a vision problem and don't need a dimming menu! 

Any suggestions?
nice picture and features, but....

I purchased this Blu-ray player for the up-scaling of DVDs and the Netflix streaming, as I don't have any BD media at this time. 

The good: we were all impressed with the quality of the picture when up-scaling DVDs. The picture was very good with few artifacts. Also, the Netflix was picture quality was very good, as compared to my Dad's Roku, but I'm not sure if it was the unit or the fact that my cable modem is faster than his DSL modem. I attribute a lot to the connection speed. 

The bad: Some DVDs didn't play properly (e.g., Star Trek IV and Star Wars Episode I). Mostly thing were fine; however, about 80% of the time, the audio would disappear on the menu screen, and when going to a scene, the 5-10 seconds of the movie (audio & video) were dropped. 

My one son and I are rather picky about things being right, so I returned the unit after talking to Sony. (They offered no useful solution.) I decided to try the BDP-S370 (same features, but no 3D), and it had the exact same problem. I believe there is a firmware issue in the new series of Sony Blu-ray players.
great entry level BD player

This is a great entry level BD player. Great price for all the features. Plug-and-play setup. My only complaint is its insistence on using a Sony wireless adapter - I plugged in several name-brand ones and they were all rejected as incompatible. The Sony wireless adapter is almost half the price of the player itself - a travesty when every other wireless USB adapter out there is $20. Ultimately I ran a cat-5 ethernet cable to it and it worked fabulously. The menu's user interface is a little goofy and takes a minute to get used to, but the content is rich.
