The freshly available iOS 4.2 is compatible with three iDevices: iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, but in this post we wanted to concentrate on the iPad version, while it represents a huge change for the platform. "iOS 4.2 would make the iPad a completely new piece, just during time for the xmas season," Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs said. "Once again, the iPad with iOS 4.2 will define the target that other tablets will aspire to, but very few, if any, will ever be able to hit." One of new iOS 4.2 features is called Folders. Whether your iPad is stuffed with apps, the brand new Folders feature offers you a new and intuitive way to manage and navigate all of those icons.

Users are now able to use drag-and-drop function to arrange their folders. iPad owners are now able to add more than 12 items to a folder. Being more exact, quantity of maximum apps in any folder is now 20. Obviously, it's nice to keep your apps sorted for fast access to your favorites.Here's a short tutorial about making folders.In order to make a folder you will need to tap and hold down an App on the Home Screen. When the apps start to wiggle you can create a folder by dragging an app on top of another. This really is just like moving apps around on the Home Screen, the main difference is you are moving the app on top of another. iOS will automatically title the folder based on the apps put into the folder. In case if you decide to put two games together the folder will be named Games.Still you can always enter the name that best identifies the apps inside the folder: Racing Games, Books or similar. You may as well move the apps wherever you need to set their place. When you're done organizing your apps press the Home button to save the settings.If you make a folder by mistake or you simply want to delete a folder you'll need to next things: tap the folder you wish to delete.

Then tap and hold down an app in the folder until the apps begin to wiggle. You don't need to go into the folder to do this, you can tap and hold down any app, the end goal is to get the apps to wiggle. Remove the apps one by one until you remove the second to last app inside the folder. This will cause the folder to go away and the last app will automatically return to the Home Screen. You can also use this method to rename the folder just in case you don't want to delete it.
