Do You Need A Keyboard Or Mouse With The IPad Clones (The iPed / aPad, ePad, etc?) Can You Get Them?
People sometimes ask me if you can do word processing or easily navigate the web with the iPad clones (sometimes called the iPed, aPad, ePad, etc.) And if so, do you need a mouse or keyboard to do this? These tablets have touch screens that are pretty responsive, but they're also quite small, which is one of the reasons that they're so popular.
You don't really need to use a mouse or keyboard if you're just going to be checking email, updating facebook, or reading ebooks. But, if you're going to be doing heavy web browsing or extensive word processing, then having a mouse and / or keyboard will make things easier.
And this leads me to the next question, since we're talking about clones here (the aPad, iPed, etc.) how difficult is it to get keypads and / or a mouse for these models? It's not difficult at all. Like all of the accessories for the iPad clones, keyboards and a mouse are readily available and quite inexpensive.
Another reason that people hesitate is that they think lugging around an extra mouse and keyboard defeats the whole purpose of the tablet. This does have to be the case. They a small, wireless mouse that's very portable. They also have keyboards that are actually attached to the case so that it's as if you're not having to lug around anything extra.
This way, you have easy access to these items when you need them, but you're not burdened with them when you're not. In general, the keyboards start at around $20 while the mouse is around $15, but sometimes you can find these items bundled together which can really save some money.
