HTC Launch Not One But Three New Phones

HTC, the Taiwanese handset maker supporting the Google Android operating system, has uncovered not one but three new devices. Two of these devices are based on the Android platform whilst the third device runs the Windows mobile operating system.

Similar to one of HTC's earlier designs, the new HTC Legend's design is sleek, simple and stylish. Made from a single piece of aluminium and without any joins, the HTC Legend seems to use the same manufacturing processes behind Apple's Mac computers.

The Legend features a 3.2 inch AMOLED screen, which means it can produce pin sharp images and crisp colours whilst combining a touch screen and optical track pad for easy navigation,

The HTC Desire is almost identical to Google's Nexus One handset and features a 3.7 inch AMOLED. Powered by a 1GHz processor, the HTC Desire can switch quickly between applications and tasks and even supports Flash Player, a feature Apple's iPhone doesn't yet offer. I already have a Nexus One handset, but if I didn't, the HTC Desire would be among the birthday gifts I'd most like to receive.

HTC also showcased their HD Mini, which is a smaller version of the popular HD2 which was powered by Windows. The HD mini said to look and feel just like the HD2 but that it can also act as a wireless hotspot. Other devices including laptops can share the HD Mini's 3G data connection in order to surf the web.

With the release of the iPad it's clear to see that telecommunication companies are battling for their products to be the hottest news in the world of technology. The HTC Legend and HD Mini went on sale in April and the HTC Desire is due to go on sale in the summer.
