IPad UK Launch Set For 28th May
Apple has revealed that the long awaited iPad will be available in the UK from the 28th May 2010 so add it to your birthday gifts wishlist now. You can already pre-order an iPad from Apple's website, starting from £429. The iPad is a tablet computer, which has been designed and marketed by Apple.
It has been designed specifically for browsing the internet, listening to music, watching films and of course, for playing on the thousands of applications available from Apple's App Store. There are also thousands of apps that have been made exclusively for the iPad.
Having already been released in the US, as of May 3rd 2010 Apple are rumoured to have already sold 1 million iPads. It's design established a new line of devices, between smartphones and laptops. The iPad uses Wifi Internet connection or a 3G data connection so it's users can browse the Internet and stream multimedia. The iPad's screen measures approximately 25 cm and is a touch screen LCD display.
Prices start from £429 for a 16GB Wifi iPad to £699 for a 64GB Wifi+3G iPad. Use Safari, Apple's web browser, on the iPad and have the internet at your fingertips. If you rotate the iPad to landscape when viewing a webpage, your viewing rotates and expands to fit the display. If you want to zoom in on a piece of information simply double tap with your finger to take a closer look. Using the Internet has never been so simple!
You can even add accessories to the iPad. The iPad Keyboard Dock combines a dock alongside a full-size keyboard. You can upload pictures from a digital camera and even connect your iPad to TVs, projectors and displays using various cables.
