It's quite compelling when you walk into someone's home and see the things they have chosen to display to whoever walks through the front door.  But realistically, it's the items that we can't see that are more important.  With so many nifty gadgets out now, including the ipad, it's no wonder that we feel the need to buy everything that's put in front of our face.  Some things are more crucial to own than others and deciphering between the two is often the tricky part.  Below is a list I compiled of things that I think should be a part of each and every household out there.

Now let me elaborate on some of these.

I don't know about you, but cutting garlic is a tedious job for me.  Plus your hands smell like garlic for days after the fact.  Having a garlic press on hand is essential for getting the job done quickly and odor free. 

A mirror is not only for you, but your guests.  Say your friend walks in the door and you can't bear to tell them it appears they have stuck their fingers in a light socket because their hair is sticking straight up.  Your friend can figure it out on their own when they go into the bathroom and happen to glance in the mirror at what they thought was their soft silky hair. 

Universal mount; many of you are probably asking yourself, what is this and why do I need it?  Well, if you are into showing movies on your projector while needing to have the latest model, than one of these would be quite useful for you as it fits nearly all currently sold projectors. 

A pen…yes, I know it sounds simple in all, but how many times have you needed to write something down and you can't find a pen; or you find a pen and it doesn't work?  My point exactly. 

A picture sounds so simple but yet it can add so much character to a home or even your office space in Tucson.  A blank wall is often boring but if you put a picture up, it can add a whole other dimension and give your guests a place to gaze at while they are waiting for you to serve dinner.

These are just some of the many items that your household should have.  And for whatever reason, if you don't have them, chances are you could pick one up at the next yard sale you see.  After all, what one person sees as trash, the next will see as a treasure.
