The Vtech V Reader Animated E-Book System Review

The electronic book market has really started to hit its stride, and a big part of that is because of all the new and inexpensive electronic readers available on the market now.  There's the Amazon Kindle, the Barnes & Noble Nook, The Sony Reader, and, of course, the new influx of tablet computers beginning with the always popular iPad.  But the electronic book market isn't just an exciting new market for adults.  Children are also benefitting from new ebooks made especially for them.  To serve the needs of young children in this regard, Vtech has come out with the V.Reader Animated E-Book System, which shows children wonderful animated books on a large touch screen perfect for little hands and minds that are learning to read.

The Vtech V.Reader has been made especially to be durable and resistant to the often rough treatment that little hands can dish out.  It's got a tough plastic design with plenty of buffering for the delicate electronic components, and there's a protective screen that covers the reader itself for extra protection.  It's made for the benefit of children as young as 3 years old, and its appeal lasts several years, and is recommended for children up to the age of 7.

Each story is fully animated with narration, character voices, and great graphics as well as sounds and music.  Children can watch the story, play reading games, and consult with the story dictionary in order to help improve their reading skills.  There are even certificates that the child can get for completing reading tasks, which is sure to help make them very proud of their great accomplishments.

The Vtech V.Reader device requires 4 "AA" batteries for operation, and there's a plug in adapter available called the V.Smile 9 Volt Adapter, which was originally created for the Vtech V.Smile educational video game system, another great product from Vtech.  The adapter is fully compatible with the Vtech V.Reader, however, and can definitely help to save on battery life when an outlet is nearby.

For carrying, there's also a special V.Reader Storage Tote which will protect the device while travelling and keep it handy for use as needed.  The tote comes in blue for boys or pink for girls, so that any child can look fashionable while carrying about his or her collection of books on this fantastic device.
